Christmas 2010

We traveled to Cincinnati for Christmas! We flew after what happened on our Thanksgiving trip. I was so thankful Anna did not cry on the flight. Much more expensive, but much more pleasant than driving. We stayed at the Westin and had a view of fountain square. Silas and Anna loved watching the ice skaters. We went to see the train exhibit, which I went to every year growing up. Silas and Anna had a lot of fun playing with their cousins. We also got to see baby Emilie!

Santa came before we left!!

At the train exhibit!

Photo Shoot Attempt

I scheduled a photographer in November. She had to cancel and reschedule due to contractions. On the rescheduled date she gave birth. I don't have the best luck with photographers. It was late in the game to find another photographer for Christmas photos, so I attempted to do it myself. I took a few, but the kids kept having meltdowns. I was glad that a week later, a new photographer in town met us for a photo shoot. Who takes outside pictures in December... I guess we do. We had to defrost after the session, but the photos turned out great.

Little Acrobat

You cannot leave Anna Kate alone for one second!! Not only does she like to climb on boxes as shown. On a daily basis she climbs up on a chair to attempt to unlock the back door... I am in big trouble!!

Thanksgiving 2010

What a trip!!!! I know that we will fly to Cincinnati for Christmas. Sweet baby Anna has decided she hates the car and screeched most of the trip to Paducah. Once there, we had a great time! We had fun at Nanny's and were able to see all of Daddy's family! Christmas came early at Grandmom's and GP's house.

Now, I thought the ride home had to be better. Nope!! The whole family caught a GI bug and I was unlucky enough to develop symptoms on the ride home. It can't always be smooth sailing.

GP's Visit

It was nice to see GP! We had a good, but too short visit. GP brought Anna a rocking horse! We had lots of fun raking leaves or should I say raking piles to jump in...

Halloween

Halloween night was a great time, but it did not go as I had planned. First, Silas was going to be Darth Vader for months, but a week before Halloween he would make a much better Buzz. I kind of liked the change. Anna was going to go as Yoda, but she fell asleep before it was time to go trick or treating. We were planning to go to another Birmingham neighborhood which is known for good trick or treating. Instead, Silas and I opted to go around our neighborhood. It was a last minute decision, but it was a good decision. It was low key and our neighbors were so friendly. Silas got to show each one of them his buzz wings, which were pretty cool. Katherine joined us as we were wrapping up.

Welcome Emilie!!

What an eventful weekend. I traveled to Cincinnati for Ann Marie's baby shower and she delivered sweet Emilie on the day of her shower!! Emilie was 6 weeks early but was born healthy and Ann Marie recovered quickly. What a blessing from God! It was a stress filled weekend but we also took time to have some fun. We went to the pumpkin farm, the zoo, and spent as much time with family as we could. We stayed with our friends Carmen and Mike, who were great hosts. We roasted marshmallows by the campfire and even got to try buffalo tacos.
