When did hiking become so difficult

So, I took the kids to one of our old stomping grounds.  The boulder fields reminds me of my earlier climbing days.  I really miss climbing and would like to get back into it in the fall.  The man below happened upon us and really wanted a picture of Silas with his dog.  Harmless, right?  He was a little strange and then proceeded to ask for contact info to send the pictures he took.  I declined and likely will not participate in this type of encounter again. We had fun, but wow hiking is alot harder with two toddlers in tow.  I am blessed to be able to spend so much time with them.  They are growing up so fast.

My budding climber.  Do they make climbing shoes his size...

Si is a pretty good photographer.  I sometimes can't believe I let him handle our camera...  I am hoping I never regret it.

Happy Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day, we went to a state park.  The beach left a lot to be desired, but the kids enjoyed the 20 minutes I was able to endure.  We then went paddle boating.  Si was all about it.  Anna not so much.  She was so scared.  She is usually adventurous, I guess water and boats are not her cup of tea.  At least for now.

Finally content with me holding her..

Car Wash for Teacher Appreciation Week!

We hired Lauren in March to replace Jennifer as our nanny.  We were sad, but also excited to get to know Lauren.  Lauren has been great!  The kids adjusted quickly and she has been a great fit for our family.  Lauren aspires to be a teacher, as she recently obtained a bachelors in education.  She teaches my little ones for now and we decided to wash her car to show our appreciation.  Thanks for all you do Lauren!!

Anna, like her brother has developed a love for "Finding Nemo"

Tattoos early...

Easter

Our First Easter Egg Hunt was at Crestline Village.  Anna was a little scared of the Easter bunny, but she enjoyed collecting and eating the candy.  On the other hand, Silas kept asking the Easter bunny questions, like, " Are you hot in there."

Snuggling

I am glad Silas and Anna get along.  They may not always, but as Anna gets older they are starting to interact and play together a lot more.

Welcome Trails of Africa

The Birmingham Zoo has a new exhibit, Trails of Africa.  We had a great time visiting the elephants, but as always the splash area is much more exciting.

Silas' First Performance

Silas had his first concert.  He attends preschool and they organized a spring ensemble.  It was outside and the kids had a lot of fun.  Silas sang most of the songs and seemed to favor an Irish folk song.  Kirk and I are both of irish descent... Our family, Jennifer, and  Lauren came to the concert and we went out to dinner to celebrate.  He is growing up so fast.

Relaxing after the big day!
