Too Cute to be a Monster

She decided she didn't want to be a lion.  So, I pulled Silas' costume from when he was 2 out of storage. She looked adorable, but alas it was not her style.  She has decided she is a princess in real life and that is what she wants to be for Halloween.

Si was a year old in this picture, not 2.  It fits her well above and him below.

Pumpkin Farm

We went to a pumpkin farm with Jennifer, Wes and Amos.  We had a great time!  I didn't realize the inflatable slides would capture Si's attention, but they did.  He was brave climbing up those high ladders.  What fun!!

Petting Zoo and a lot of antibacterial gel...

Si chose this over riding a pony:

Anna chose the pony:

Weekend Fun

Fun at the park on the weekend.  The first two, I 'm not sure... Maybe imitating monsters...

Cute close ups... His face is changing.  He is so grown up!

This morning was comical.  Anna chose the outfit.  She is a little fashionista.  She keeps us laughing that is for sure.

Preparing for our photo session

We have a photo session bright and early today....  It is outdoors and it is freezing!!  What was I thinking.  Last year we had a photo session outside in December.   At least I made it for October this year, but we didn't luck out with the weather.  The pictures will follow.  I captured some this morning and Anna's phone conversation is too funny not to post.  Enjoy!

Si just looked exhausted!!

Happy Birthday, Montessori Style

I love Montessori birthday celebrations!  He showed his class how he has changed throughout the years, while I read the story of Silas.

The Story of Silas

Silas was born on October 16, 2007, in the United States on the continent of North America, on the planet earth. He had to be held and taken care of all the time.  He couldn't talk to his Mom or Dad to let them know what he needed.  He wore diapers, drank only milk and slept a lot.  He soon learned to smile and laugh.

When Silas was 1 year old he learned to crawl, climb, then walk.  He began to eat regular food and loved mashed potatoes.  He had a birthday party and had his first piece of chocolate cake.

At 2 years old, Silas began talking.  He loved puzzles and painting.  He also loved music and dancing.  He took a music class this year and learned to sing songs.  He also became a big brother to his little sister Anna.

When Silas was 3 years old he came to Hilltop Montessori school.  He could talk in sentences, sing, and run.  He took swim lessons.  He learned to ride a tricycle. He loved doing jobs at school and playing on the playground.  He helped a lot at home and would help put laundry away, feed the dogs, and clean up after playing.  He loved playing hide and seek, stunt mania, riding his plasma car and spending time with his family and friends.
And now Silas is 4 years old. He can dress himself.  He can help prepare food.  He loves to eat rice, yogurt, and spaghetti.  His favorite dessert is cupcakes.  He continues to love playing hide and seek, riding his plasma car and power wheel, and playing with monster trucks. He has learned how to use tools and works with his Daddy in his workshop.  He can drive remote control cars and play video games.  He loves art projects, reading books, learning, watching movies, and spending time with his family.  He sets a good example for his little sister and helps her when she needs him.
