Almost Christmas

We enjoyed a quiet family Christmas before our trek to Paducah.  I am hoping one day we will be able to celebrate with family and return to our home.  It is hard to drive 6 to 9 hours to see family.  Not that it is not well worth it, I just would love to see the kids at our house enjoying Christmas and opening presents from Santa on Christmas morning.  For now, we will keep driving, but maybe someday we will live closer.

Heaven pouring out from above or so it seems....

Anna's First Christmas Party!

Anna was invited to Cameron's 2nd Annual Christmas PJ party.  She had so much fun!  A lot of new toys to play with and great food!  She got to design her own Christmas cookie and play pin the nose on Rudolph.

Meredith and Steve's Visit

Uncle Steve and soon to be Aunt Meredith came for a visit.  I took them hiking at Moss Rock.  It was nice the small waterfall was flowing, given it had just rained.  We were glad to spend time with them and enjoyed a great weekend!

Visit with Santa

We went to see Santa and they both enjoyed the visit.   Jennifer and Amos went with us and I got a cute picture of Amos and Si with Santa.  Anna had had enough.  I am so excited about Christmas this year.  They are both filled with such wonder and excitement.  What a joy it is to watch your children grow.

I am making a concerted effort to focus on Jesus this Christmas, and less on Santa.   I found some great Children's books and we will be reading nightly.  As a Christian, I feel it is so important to teach my children about the true reason for all the excitement.

We are truly thankful! Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!  Silas and Anna enjoyed a Thanksgiving party at school before embarking on our journey to Kentucky.  Jennifer took the kids to the party given I had to work.  Looks like they had fun!  We spent Thanksgiving at Gina and J.D.'s house.  We had a great time spending time with our family.  It is our year to head to Paducah for Christmas, so we celebrated Christmas a little earlier with my side of the family.  We are so blessed to have such a loving and supportive family.  I thank God daily for the blessing of our family.

The two Annas.  They are in  the same class and Silas is best friends with Anna's big brother Luke.

Photos are back!

Ashley Warren of Warren Studios took our photos in October and they turned out beautiful!! These are just a few.  Anna was so cold.  I felt so bad I forgot her coat.  She was a trooper and we got some great shots!  Thanks Ashley!

Halloween

School celebration, school parade, Mtn Brook parade, and trick or treating in one day.  What a fun and very long day.  Jennifer and Amos attended the parade with us.  He was such a cute Yoda.  Jennifer and I tried to appease the kids and attempted to dress as witches.  I don't think we quite pulled it off.  The hats lasted seconds and the rest of my outfit at least was a disaster.  When Kirk arrived for trick or treating, he asked me what I was supposed to be... We had a great day!

Ok, so Silas has some close friends at school.  This was not planned, but his close friends, Luke and Sheridan dressed up as super heros as well.  How cute!!

Silas, Luke and Sheridan look a little uneasy as the big boys join the group...

Crestline village trick or treating.  Rock band, popcorn stand, and lots of candy.  Definitely the best trick or treating in town.
