Our Last Adventure in Cincinnati

We stopped at the Butterfly Show at the Conservatory before we left.  I am glad we stopped.  It was a relaxing experience.  Si did put a lot of pressure on me to find him a butterfly to hold, but as you can see below I came through.  We had read a book recently, which I recommend called, "Velma Gratch and the Way Cool Butterfly."  What a wonderful way to bring the book to life.  Silas had remembered butterflies are very delicate and that we are not to touch their wings.  He even had a butterfly land on him just like Velma right before we were preparing to leave.  The butterfly didn't want to leave his finger just like in Velma's butterfly in the book.

We then went to Eden park and viewed the Ohio River.  The kids played on a pretty cool playground.  A kid slid down into Anna's back on the slide while were there.   Silas avenged her by hitting the kid in the back and saying "you don't hurt my baby sister."  He then said, "Anna I got your back."  I did correct him, but I did think it was a little bit sweet.

We ended our trip with a stop at UDF where we all got milkshakes.  We had a wonderful time.  It was hard to say goodbye.  I felt we didn't get to spend much time with MeeMaw and PeePaw.  Hoping to get together for my Mom's birthday in July.

As an aside, I am so grateful I took time off to be with them.  What a wonderful experience it has been to teach the kids this summer and enrich their lives with travel.  I am grateful also to Kirk who works so hard to take care of our family.  We miss him very much while we are away.

I know I look a little stressed, but it was hard and delicate work transferring a butterfly
